Five of Lincolnshire House resident's and one day service user (Keith Baumber, Karen Clark, Heather Sunley, Rebecca Burkitt, Paul Newborough and James Moody) with the help of Mandy Hickling took part in a sponsored swim that raised a grand total of £346. Well done to you all and many thanks go to the people that sponsored and supported the event espcially the entrants.

The sun shone brightly after a few clouds in the morning. Our Patron, Mr. Graham Taylor opened the fayre at 12 Noon. The day was enjoyed by many with Tai Quando, Scunthorpe District Pipe Band, No Srtings Attached, Batons of Steel displays, a visit from Scunthorpe Fire Brigade, bouncy castle, the famous barbecue and many more stalls to attract visitors. Thanks go to the following sponsors - Turner Price, Sainsbury's, Eska Foods, Clive Smith butchers, visitors, staff, residents and families who helped on the day. The event raised £1,864.97.

£500 was donated to Lincolnshire House to purchase additional items for the Multi-Sensory room at Lincolnshire House. Our thanks go to the children at the school who raised the monies and Mr & Mrs Berry who nominated our chairty, many service users in Scunthorpe and the surrounding area will benefit from the donation. 

North East and North Lincolnshire Cerebral Palst Society

A cheque of £1,000 was donated to the WISH Appeal from the members of the North East and North Lincolnshire Cerebral Palsy Society. A number of our resident's and respite users originate from North East Lincolnshire. Our thanks go to the society for this generous donation and their continued support with our appeal over a number of years.

The Mid Summer Walk attracted 87 entrants this year, the weather was ideal for the eight mile walk through Scotton and Scotter. Thank you to Denise and John at the Three Horseshoes for allowing Lincolnshire House to use their facilities, for their help and continued support with our appeal. To date the event has raised £4,45.5.50 with more monies still to come in. Well done and thank you to everybody who took part and made the day so successful.

Scunthorpe & District Athletic Club Fun Run

The annual fun run was held by the Scunthorpe and District Athletic Club with a run/walk around central park and along Brumby Wood Lane, the weather was kind, many of the members kindly pushed some of the residents round to raise further funds for the appeal. Thanks to everybody who took part, the run raised £250.

Sainsbury's Fashion Show

Sainsbury's held their second fashion show in aid of our appeal. Sainsbury's staff and their families took part in this second fashion show giving the audience a preview to the summer range collection. Refreshments were available courtesy of Sainsbury's, Virgin Vie products were also available. The night raised £230, thank you to everybody taking part especially the children.

David Baker and Phil Jackson carried out a 12 house sponsored chess challenge on the 3rd February 2010 raising the WISH Appeal £335 between them in the process. Winterton Lion's presented Lincolnshire House with a cheque for £1,000 at who raised monies at Sainsbury's with various fund raising activities over a period of time in aid of our appeal. I would like to thank the member's of Winterton Lions who took part in raising these monies and for their continued support with our appeal.

The Sainsbury's fashion show raised £339.50 and was a great success with some fantastic and inovative modelling on the catwalk courtesy of Sainsbury's staff and families. There were merchandise displays from Virgin Vie, Rocks (costume jewellery), Nicola (hairdresser) and the autumn fashion collection from Sainsbury's. The refreshments were a great hit with the coffee cake being a firm favourite. A big thank you goes out to all the staff at Sainsbury's and everybody who supported the event from us all at Lincolnshire House.

A big thank you to Mr. Paul Altoft from us all at Lincolnshire House for his completion of the Windsor Half Marathon. Mr. Altoft raised £271 for the WISH Appeal. Well done from us all! 

Benji's Quiz Night

On Friday 18th  September here in the activities at Lincolnshire House Benji Taylor held the annual charity quiz for our WISH (Where Independence Starts at Home) Appeal. Before we held the quiz there was pie and peas which everyone enjoyed. The quiz consisted of 40 questions, including a picture quiz, the questions covered music, sport, television, filsm, history, science, flags, places numbers and books. There were three raffle prizes and ten teams took part. A big thank you to everyone who helped and supported the evening. The event raised a grand total of £212.
